BINGO, got right in and could seel and play all my files I used something about 8 digits since I already knew the 5 digit admin did not work. I then ran across a post (see below) that suggested using a random username and no password. I tried my routers credentials, blank credentials, resetting the Oppo, putting admin as user and no password. The problem was that choosing Readyshare would cause the Oppo to prompt me for a username and password and this was set-up by Netgear's default not to need credentials. I presume this means it uses the Server Message Block network protocol as opposed to DLNA which I guess is for media servers. The Readyshare choice has an icon next to it that has SMB next to it. The other way it shows up is as Readyshare. I presume this uses the ReadyDLNA and works for most all files but not dsf files. This is the model of the router and the default name listed under media server in Netgear's settings.
When I went to Network from Oppo's home menu my the drive attached to my Netgear router showed up 2 different ways. I was able to access the files through the Oppo 205. What is the ReadyDLNA streaming service and how do I enable it on my ReadyNAS OS 6 storage system? | Answer | NETGEAR Support Netgear's page shows other files but no dsf see. According to a post in some forum Netgear's version of DLNA, ReadyDLNA does not support it.
I was able to access dsf files on my windows 10 using DLNA (oShare). I've searched the internet for a solution, but haven't found one.
dsf files, and so can Neutron on my android phone, so it does not appear to be a network or router issue. I know the units can play the file through a USB flashdrive inserted in the front panel of the Marantz, so the file format is compatible. So I don't think that the issue is Network or router related.
Same outcome FLACS and ALACS are good, but it can't 'see' any. I've also tried to have the Marantz access files off of my laptop also. However, when I use any of the Marantz' to navigate to my DSF folder, I can drill down to the album name, but when I open the directory it reads "EMPTY". Using the 'media server' option, I can play any FLAC or ALAC file through the network. I have a Marantz NR1607 and UD5007 on one system and a SR7007 on another. Netgear uses DLNA to access the files over the network. I have many music files stored on an external hard drive attached to a Netgear Router. Hi - I currently have an open conversation with Marantz support about this, but I thought that I would see if anyone here can make a suggestion.
